Registration & Fees
Any student enrolled in a UW course at their high school earns high school credit. In order to earn UW credit at the same time, you must register through UWHS by the applicable deadline.
Registration Deadlines
For the 2023–2024 school year, the registration deadline for first-semester and yearlong courses is October 16, 2023. The deadline for second-semester courses is March 1, 2024.
How to Register for UW Credit
After the course begins, your teacher will distribute a registration form and a registration fact sheet to students who are eligible to register for UW credit.
You can register in one of three ways.
To register online (preferred method): You'll need your course registration number to start the registration process. This number can be found on your registration form.
To register by phone: Have your course registration number available. Call Registration Services at 206-543-2310 during office hours: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
To register by mail: Complete and mail the registration form. If you are registering for more than one UW course, you can include all forms in one envelope.
Fees
Due to new Washington state funding to support College in the High School courses, students attending public schools can register to earn UW credit in UW courses offered through UW in the High School at no cost. Private school students pay $77/credit.
Payment
Private school students must plan to pay by electronic check (ACH) or credit/debit card when registering online or by phone. Note that there's a 2.75% nonrefundable service fee (minimum $3) when paying by credit or debit card.
In one to two business days, after we process your registration, we'll email you a link to a secure payment site. Payment is due immediately upon receipt of the link. There are no payment plans or deadline extensions. Financial aid and scholarships from the UW are not available.
If you don't want to pay by ACH or credit/debit card, use the “Print” button at the bottom of the form and mail the form with a U.S. affiliated check or money order in the amount of all fees due made payable to University of Washington and postmarked by the registration deadline to the address below:

Late Registration Petition
UWHS recognizes there can be extenuating circumstances that prevent students from meeting the registration deadline to earn UW credits for UW courses taught at high schools. The late registration petition provides students with a means to communicate the extenuating details and have them reviewed by the UWHS office. Late registration approval is not generally granted for misunderstanding the registration deadline, forgetting about the deadline, or being ill or too busy on the day of the deadline. Email uwhslatereg@uw.edu to access the petition form. Petitions for late registration are accepted up to two weeks following the registration deadline.
