Registration & Fees
Any student enrolled in a UW course at their high school earns high school credit. But to earn UW credit at the same time, you must register through UWHS and pay the associated fees.
Registration Deadlines
For the 2022–2023 school year, the registration deadline for first-semester and yearlong courses is October 12, 2022. The deadline for second-semester courses is March 1, 2023.
How to Register for UW Credit
After the course begins, your teacher will distribute a registration form and a registration fact sheet to students who are eligible to register for UW credit.
You can register in one of three ways.
To register online (preferred method): You must plan to pay by electronic check (ACH) or credit/debit card when registering online. Be sure to have the registration number of your course handy; you'll need it to start the registration process. This number can be found on your registration form.
In one to two business days, after we process your registration, we'll email you a link to a secure payment site. Note that there's a 2.75% nonrefundable service fee when paying by credit or debit card.
If you do not want to pay by electronic check or credit/debit card, use the “Print” button at the bottom of the form and mail the form with a U.S. affiliated check or money order made payable to University of Washington and postmarked by the registration deadline to the address below. Deadline extensions are not available.
To register by phone: Call Registration Services at 206-543-2310 during office hours: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Students registering for more than one UW course can include all forms and payments in one envelope.

Fees
Through UWHS, students can earn UW credit at less than a quarter of on-campus rates. Course fees are $66/credit for the 2022–23 school year. The registration fee is $45 and is paid just once per registration period, whether you register for a single course or several.
Payment
Payment is due in full after you register. There are no payment plans or deadline extensions. Financial aid and scholarships from UW are not available.
Late Registration Petition
UWHS recognizes there can be extenuating circumstances that prevent students from meeting the registration deadline to earn UW credits for UW courses taught at high schools. The late registration petition provides students with a means to communicate the extenuating details and have them reviewed by the UWHS office. Late registration approval is not generally granted for misunderstanding the registration deadline, forgetting about the deadline, or being ill or too busy on the day of the deadline. Email uwhslatereg@uw.edu to access the petition form. Petitions for late registration are accepted up to two weeks following the registration deadline.
