Registration & Fees
Any student enrolled in a UW course at their high school earns high school credit. But to earn UW credit at the same time, you must register through UWHS and pay the associated fees. Only sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to register for UW credit.
For the 2019-2020 school year, the registration deadline for first-semester and yearlong courses is October 29, 2019. The deadline for second-semester courses is March 3, 2020. There are no deadline extensions, and late registrations are not accepted.
How to Register for UW Credit
After the course begins, your teacher will distribute a registration form and a registration fact sheet to students who are eligible to register for UW credit.
You can register in one of two ways.
To register by phone (preferred method): Call Registration Services at (206) 543-2310 during office hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
You must pay by credit card when registering by phone. Be sure to have the registration number of your course on hand. This number can be found on your registration form.
To register by mail: Complete the registration form. Write a check or money order out to the University of Washington and in the amount of all fees due or complete the credit card section of the form. Payment by a third-party organization is also possible. For more information, contact Registration Services at (206) 543-2310 or email@example.com.
Students registering for more than one UW course can include all forms and payments in one envelope.
Send forms and payment to:
P.O. Box 45010
Seattle, WA 98145-0010
Through UWHS, students can earn UW credit at less than a quarter of on-campus rates. For the 2019-20 school year, fees to register for UW credit for five- and four- credit courses are:
Course fee for a 5-credit course: $325 ($65/credit)
Registration fee: $45
Total fees for one 5-credit course: $370
Course fee for a 4-credit course (CSE 142 only): $260 ($65/credit)
Registration fee: $45
Total fees for one 4-credit course: $305
You pay the registration fee just once per registration period, whether you register for a single course or several.
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. There are no payment plans or deadline extensions. Financial aid and scholarships are not available.
In order for a course to be offered for UW credit, at least four students must register for UW credit. If this minimum registration is not met, the course will be cancelled, and any registered students will be notified and refunded their payment. At the school's discretion, the course may still run for high school credit.
